Emergency food pantry
The food pantry meets the emergency food needs for the residents of San Jacinto. Since opening in 2014, the Acts Community Food Pantry distributed over 520,000 pounds of food to over 4,700 families in need. Each household receives a box with 40-60 pounds of food up to 6 times per year. Each box contains 30 pounds purchased from the High Plains Food Bank and 10-30 pounds of surplus food. While the contents change based on availability, these boxes consistently contain pasta, canned vegetables, soup, rice, beans, nuts and various other snack items. In addition, the surplus food is potatoes, fresh fruit and fresh vegetables.
